Direct Services

To assist women, men, their children, friends, family, and all people affected by domestic and dating violence, we offer the following services;

• 24-Hour Hotline: Trained staff and volunteers are available 24-hours a day to provide support, safety options and information.
• Emergency Shelter: Temporary shelter for abused partners, their children, and even their pets.
• Transitional Housing: Long-term housing and personalized support for homeless survivors of domestic violence.
• Court Advocacy: Assistance in understanding and navigating the legal system and obtaining legal protection.
• Island Outreach Program: Intervention and prevention services offered directly to the Islands in our service area.
• Advocacy and Referrals: Information about community services, and support and assistance in dealing with them.

Prevention Services

Training

New Hope for Women offers training in Domestic Violence Response to organizations and community service personnel who may be called upon to recognize and assist victims of domestic violence and their families.

Trainings are suitable for;

• Civic Organizations
• Clergy
• Other Community Groups
• EMT / EMS
• Personal Care Professionals
• Hair Dressers
• Veterinary and Humane shelters on Animal Abuse and Safety

We believe everyone sees people in their daily lives that are directly or indirectly affected by domestic violence. Our goal is to offer information to anyone in the community interested in changing the socially accepted pattern of violence in our daily lives.

Community and School-Based Education

Domestic violence is a devastating and costly epidemic in our society. Raising community awareness is the first step toward making violence in our families unacceptable.

Our community and school-based prevention and intervention programs increase awareness of family violence and offer assitance in coordinating a consistent and helpful response by the general community.

Our school-based advocates are available to provide domestic violence prevention and intervention programs to students and staff grades K-12.

Your computer use can be monitored by your abuser. Most libraries and some schools have computers for public use.
